Any Tips for Conceiving a Girl?
I get emailed regularly asking for tips for conceiving a girl from parents or prospective parents who, for one reason or another, want to choose the gender of their next child. This might seem strange to many people whose only concern is having a healthy baby, but there are some genuine reasons why some people have a preference about the sex of their baby.
1. Cultural Reasons – as strange as it might seem to us in the developed World, there are some places in the world where one gender is held in higher esteem than the other. In certain parts of Asia for instance, having a boy baby is seen by many parents as a blessing, so information about how to have a girl baby is often used to facilitate the opposite happening, having a boy baby. Also, in parts of China where the one child policy is still enforced, choosing the sex of your baby is highly prized.
2. Already Have Children – a friend of ours who already has 3 boys was desperate to conceive a girl for her fourth and final child. Her view was that she already shared her world with four males (her husband and 3 boys), so she wanted to find out how to conceive a girl so that she could redress the balance a little in their household. When you hear stories like this, it makes it easier to understand why people want to make these choices in the first place.
3. Medical Reasons – for some people having a child of a particular gender presents them with all kinds of potential problems. There are some medical conditions that are more gender specific if they are passed on to the next generation – for these people, choosing to have a girl baby or a boy child makes perfect sense to avoid future problems or complications.
When you look at the subject in this way, it can make perfect sense to try to stack the odds in your favour. While there is no way to guarantee that the tips for conceiving a girl will work, there are programs available that claim to offer a 95% success rate in this area. That might not be perfect, but it is a much better strike rate that medical intervention.

Some people love being pregnant and others hate it. The fact is, whether you love it or not it is a very significant part of any woman’s life. It is important to take maternity pictures to capture the moment. As you get older, your memories will fade and maternity pictures will stay with you for a lifetime. It is even enjoyable for kids to be able to see maternity pictures of their mother’s while pregnant with them.
It is not necessary to spend the money or take the time to go to a professional studio if you do not want to. Beautiful pictures can be taken at home and they will be just as memorable. You can make your own background by tacking sheets in front of a window. The natural light shining through the sheet creates a professional look. A white backdrop with the expectant mother wearing white maternity t shirts make for a very dramatic black and white photograph. This can be a very artistic and beautiful shot. Do things like put hair flowers in your hair for a very feminine look.
Remember to wear clothes that hug your belly so that you can show it off. Big clothes could just make you look overweight! Maternity t shirts are necessary to extenuate the pregnant belly. Maternity t shirts are great for both casual and nicer pictures.
There are several fun things you can do with maternity pictures. You can include them in your baby shower invitations. Frame them and keep them in your baby’s room for the baby to be able to see at all times. Take several pictures throughout your pregnancy in the same position and same maternity t shirt to show the progress over 9 months!
Fathers are just as much a part of maternity as mothers. So it is fun to include them in the maternity pictures. Close up shots of both parents’ hands on the belly are cute. Also having the father kiss the belly can be a very memorable photograph. If you are not comfortable showing your belly for whatever reason, you can still get some gorgeous shots. Of course, if the baby’s father is not in your life that is okay too. Maybe you could photoshop your dream baby-daddy into your maternity pictures!
It is so important to enjoy your pregnancy while it lasts! The next thing you have to worry about is delivery. If you are having problems going into labor, there are things you can do to help induce yourself. There are many things you can do, including maternity acupressure techniques, that may help induce labor.
